What's Wrong With Your Toilet?
You hear water flowing into the bowl nonstop, or the toilet cycles on and off by itself. A worn toilet flapper, a faulty toilet fill valve, or a flush valve leak are the most common causes. Left alone, a running toilet can waste hundreds of gallons a day.
Water pooling around the bottom of the toilet every time you flush usually means the wax ring has failed. Left alone, it damages the subfloor, encourages mold growth, and allows sewer gas into the home. We pull the toilet, replace the wax ring, inspect the flange, and reset the bowl.
A wobbly toilet is usually a broken or corroded toilet flange, deteriorated wax ring, or an uneven floor. A toilet that moves when you sit on it isn't just annoying. It's breaking the seal underneath, which leads to leaks and sewer gas.
A one-time clog is normal. A toilet that clogs repeatedly may have a partial blockage in the trap or drain line, a low-flow model with weak flush performance, or an object stuck in the line. If the plunger isn't solving it, professional drain cleaning reaches the problem deeper in the system.
